Zoffany was inspired by a Jacobean Crewel embroidery to create the Flame Stitch Tree fabric. The monochrome background features a tree of life with dense flowers in a mixture of soft and bright colours. This elegant hand-embroidered design is finished off with a French knot to give the whole a raised effect. This textile lends a light and romantic atmosphere to the pieces.
