The most famous English wallpapers in the world

John Perry marked the history of the wallpaper industry by devising a method for imitating the shiny look of silk. He also revived the flocking process for wall fabrics. Today this is the only company in the world to use this hand-flocking technique for the Cole and Son wallpapers. With the John Perry years came an important collection of hand-carved wooden blocks used to print wallpaper. In 1914, thanks to purchases made at the right moment and lucky mergers of different companies, Cole and Son acquired printing blocks that were used for decorating the walls of palaces, castles and theatres all over Europe.

Cole and Son On a worldwide scale, Cole & Son is currently the main source of authentic old wallpapers and is official supplier to Buckingham Palace and the White House. The brand's archives act as an inspiration for Cole & Son's contemporary collections. The company has collaborated with the great names in design such as Tom Dixon, David Hicks, Piero Fornasetti and Vivienne Westwood. You will perhaps come across certain designs from this brand in iconic places, which has given them a leading reputation. Particular examples of this are the Woods wallpaper with a motif of bare trees and the the geometric effect of the Hicks Hexagon design, whose success has transcended borders to appear on walls over the whole world.
