Natural and artisanal plant fabrics!

CMO's plant fabrics are made in carefully chosen artisanal workshops in the Philippines, Indonesia or Nepal for example. The fibers used for these fabrics and wall coverings are mainly white nettle, banana, water hyacinth, straw, hemp, bamboo or palm. Raw materials go from the field to the workshop without intermediaries. The craftsman then works them by hand. These noble materials allow the production of blinds, curtains, seat covers, modular wall partitions, etc.

The plants that provide their fibers are grown or harvested while respecting their ecosystems. In their original landscapes, they help maintain biodiversity. Their exploitation helps preserve and protect natural areas. Only species allowing responsible exploitation are chosen (rapid regrowth and light cutting). These plants, always close to the craftsman who works them, thus nourish local economies compatible with environmental protection.

CMO's sustainability is also in the preservation of craftsmanship and virtuous gestures for nature. Tweet, braid, weave on loom, the ambition of this French publisher is to preserve rare gestures. It often takes a whole day to make one meter of fabric. CMO promotes techniques that are passed down from generation to generation in remote villages, with the ambition of perpetuating wealth so that industrialization does not make it disappear.
