Omega Workshop Rug Christopher Farr

Omega Workshop was an applied arts company founded in London in 1913 by the painter and art critic Roger Fry. Closely linked to Bloomsbury artists like Duncan Grant and Vanessa Bell, who joined him in this short adventure, the group produced ceramics, rugs and textile.

This rug comes from a drawing attributed to Duncan Grant or Frederick Etchells who was a member of the Omega Workshop as well. The design is characteristic of the art of this collective and features geometric shapes drawn freehand, friezes and margins, and a patchwork where the main color is broken down into nuances. Christopher Farr Editions restores the accuracy of this drawing through hand-dyed and hand-tufted wool.
