Canovas, through the decades ...

Since its creation in 1963, the Manuel Canovas brand has continued to evolve until reaching its current international reputation. Praising comfort above all, they have distinguished themselves by succeeding in creating clothes in which one feels comfortable in all circumstances. Whether in the sun, at sea or in the city, the designer's clothes are synonymous with well-being. In addition to custom-made clothes, they also design chic ready-to-wear and various accessories such as bags and hats. Things take a new turn when David Green notices the potential of the French company.

In 1998, under the leadership of its new director, Colefax & Fowler acquire Manuel Canovas. Thanks to this merger, the brand expands and start to widen its product range. At the same time, the privileged clientele is more and more interested in their works, especially because of their authenticity. From then on, many different ranges of embroidery, plain fabrics, damask fabrics and stripes are available at the showroom located rue Royale in Paris. Let's not forget the wallpapers; from the toiles de Jouy that have made the brand famous to large-scale decorative prints of historical scenes.

Now under the administration of Artistic Director Ariane Dalle, the brand takes a whole new rise. The models she creates are the fruit of her overflowing imagination coupled with her innate nature of taste. Refinement is the order of the day. She likes to put a daring touch on her creations by using very lively tones, without compromising the harmony of colors. She also praises the vintage style, especially that of the eighteenth century, which she perfectly combines with the theme of travel that connotes exploration of unknown, exotic and distant lands.
