Contemporary Persian creation



Edelgund specializes in tribal carpets made by skilled weavers in their homes, where the soul of craftsmanship is preserved. Authentic and durable, each rug is meticulously hand-woven from natural hand-spun wool and dyed with vegetable dyes. Thanks to its in-depth knowledge of Persian culture and its expertise in traditional weaving and knotting techniques, Edelgrund's art is a blend of colors and textures that gives rise to exceptional, modern and timeless pieces that fit perfectly into a variety of environments. 

Edelgund is STEP certified, a fair carpet label awarded by a non-governmental organization founded in Switzerland in 1995. The STEP standard encompasses human rights, including the prohibition of child labor, safe working conditions, fair wages, and sustainable and environmentally friendly production.

These rugs are made with high quality wool from the Kurdistan region. The weavers work in the comfort of their own homes. The dyes come from plants, turmeric, elderberry leaves and pomegranate skin for yellow, indigo for blue, walnut shell for brown, rose petals for pink and red tones, for example.
