The Astrid fabric alternates stripes with stylized vertical zigzags in an Indonesian style. The design is inspired by double Ikat, an ancestral weaving technique practiced by the village women of Tenganan, Bali. The complexity of the pattern is such that its creation can take years. Gaston Y Daniela simplifies it into a printed version on mercerized cotton, where the dynamic motif pairs beautifully with the fabric’s luster.
