High-performance outdoor textiles
In 1836, the Scotsman David Dickson moved to the north of France to create the first textile spinning mill in France. It developed by manufacturing sails, guaranteeing their durability when exposed to seawater. In 1998, Dickson was integrated into the American group Glen Raven, the leading outdoor textiles company. In 20 years, Dickson has emerged as a driver of innovation and offers a wide range of high-performance textiles combining technicality and originality, thanks to the two brands, Dickson and Sunbrella.
Guided by sustainable development, Dickson focuses its research on updating new materials with applications beyond awning fabric. In partnership with the best international laboratories, Dickson engineers create even more high-performance, eco-responsible and durable fabrics.
Dickson is known for having creating the sunacryl fibre. This new generation material is solution-dyed. At the time of manufacture of the fibre, the colour pigments are incorporated. The durability of the colour is exceptional, the fabric is rot-proof and has extreme resistance to bad weather.
