The Rêveries wallpaper by Le Grand Siècle features a structured geometric pattern. Rhythmic lozenges are framed by vertical lines that punctuate the surface. Between these shapes appear delicate, stylized feathers, their curves fragmenting the overall design. Originating from the bedroom of the French philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau in his house, Les Charmettes, in Chambéry, it hangs in the alcove where his bed was located. This 18th-century design was block-printed on a light brushed background on joined sheets of paper.
