The Villastan wallpaper takes its name and striped pattern from Villastaden, a Swedish town. The pilasters and architectural features of the buildings are interpreted through vertical lines interrupted by floral shapes. The fluidity of the lines and the curve of the roses also evoke the style of Scottish architect Rennie Mackintosh, to whom Borastapeter explicitly pays homage.
