On a plain background, flexible, almost sculpted shapes seem to interlock in a thick and enveloping weave. The Olympe rug by Serge Lesage explores an abstract pattern through a set of solid, closed lines that divide the space into cells with irregular contours. Each area appears to be carved from plant wool, with soft and asymmetrical volumes. A circle, placed as a counterpoint, breaks the vertical momentum and anchors the whole in a silent harmony.
