India Rug by Georges Sowden Post Design

India rug was created by designer Georges Sowden in 2018 and presented at the Materialism exhibition at the Post Design Gallery in Milan. Founding member of the Memphis design movement which revolutionized the sector in the 1980s, Georges Sowden founded his design agency in 1981 and collaborated with many manufacturers, including Olivetti. From his period within the Memphis group, he kept a marked interest for the decorative aspect and was attached to working with craftsmen or small industrial structures. Produced in a limited edition by Nepalese artisans, India rug illustrates his sense of color and pattern in remarkable balance.
