The Untitled 1948 fabric, by Dedar, from the Contemporary Archives collection, features an abstract and geometric pattern evoking an irregular checkerboard. The jacquard superimposes woven blocks with urban and native echoes, in the spirit of Anni Albers. The cut thread enlivens the surface with subtle reflections and textured reliefs. A dense, almost cartographic weft structures the whole.
