The figures illustrate the 'nazar boncuğu', an Uzbek talisman in the shape of an eye that Gaston y Daniela depicts in energising colours. The vibrant contours of the prints also optimise this vibrancy while imitating the ikat technique, a traditional speciality of Uzbek weavers.
