If the fabric is washable, soak it prior to tailoring in order to allow for possible shrinkage.

 

Care advice symbols

 

Washing


  Hand-wash only, normal rinse and gentle spin.
  Machine wash at the maximum temperature indicated in degrees Celsius (°C symbol).


The most common temperatures are:
 30°C   Delicate colours. Very gentle cycle, normal rinse and spin.
 40°C   Coloured t-shirts, elasticated underwear. Gentle cycle, normal rinse and spin.
 60°C   Coloured bed sheets. Normal cycle, normal rinse and spin.
 95°C   White bed sheets. Normal cycle, normal rinse and spin.


Any lines underneath the logo indicate the type of programme at the stated temperature:

 No lines - Cotton cycle (maximum speed). Normal cycle, normal rinse and spin.
 One line - Synthetic cycle (average speed). Reduced speed cycle, rinse at a reduced temperature and gentle spin.
 Two lines - Wool cycle (minimum speed).

  Do not machine wash, consult the paragraph entitled 'Professional Cleaning' below.

Bleaching

  Bleaching allowed.
  Whitening with bleach (chlorine) is possible when cold (obsolete).
  Oxygen-based bleaching only.
  Do not bleach.

Drying

  Tumble drying.


Dots at the centre of the logo indicate the maximum temperature:
 No dot - No temperature restriction.
 One dot - Dry at a low temperature (60°C maximum).
Two dots - Dry at normal temperature.

  Do not tumble dry.
  Air dry.
          Iron immediately after washing (obsolete).
  Hang to dry (clothes hanger).
  Dry flat.

Pressing

  Iron.
