Nanimarquina designed the Matiz collection based on an exploration of rhythm, transitions, and the perception of material. These rugs feature an understated geometric language composed of broad bands and brought to life by surfaces with boundaries that are sometimes sharp and often blurred. Softened transitions temper the graphic structure, lending a subtle depth to the overall design. Hand-woven from Afghan and New Zealand wool, each piece reveals a dense texture with irregularities that bear witness to the artisan's touch. Fringes subtly extend certain edges. The collection explores the balance between structure and softness in a composition that is sensitive to the nuances of the fiber.
