By mixing the creativity of Raw Edges design studio and the centenary expertise of Golran, Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay, two Israeli designers, imagine the Lake collection. Their studio is based in London and many of their creations are now exhibited in the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York. This fabulous collection brings together rugs inspired by lenticular imagery. It is a process for producing images that give the impression of relief or that change depending on the point of view. Inspired by artists Yaacov Agam and Victor Vasarely who revolutionized the world of optical perception in art, the designers sought to bring another dimension to the rug. With the mastery of Golran and his Nepalese craftsmen, the rugs of the Lake collection present two visual approaches depending on the point of view. Therefore, the duo of Raw Edges studio offers us sumptuous rugs whose colors and shapes can, like the reflection of a lake, vary depending on the light and the time of day.
