Lesage Intérieurs’ commitment to social and environmental responsibility stems from its dedication to preserving artisanal craftsmanship and placing people at the heart of its operations. The company relies in particular on Vastrakala, its state-of-the-art workshop located in Chennai, whose international SA 8000 certification—obtained in 2007 and regularly renewed—demonstrates a commitment to ethical and social practices.

This approach is also reflected in the location of Vastrakala’s new workshop as close as possible to the villages of its artisans, in order to promote the transmission of traditional craftsmanship and help anchor it in the local community. On the environmental front, the new facilities, inaugurated in 2021, have earned LEED certification, which takes into account, among other things, energy conservation and the quality of indoor and outdoor environments.

Through this collaboration between French and Indian craftsmanship, Lesage Intérieurs combines artistic craftsmanship, the transmission of skills, and social and environmental commitments, while upholding a rigorous approach to textile design and upholstery embroidery.
