To achieve her creation with Nodus, the Italian designer Alessandra Baldereschi is inspired by a painting by the artist Sebastiano Ricci dating from the 18th century. Intended for the dome of a church, the format of Venetian painting is particular. The artist chooses to use this feature to determine the overall shape of her hand-tufted rug. She takes up the pictorial scenes and gives them a contemporary aspect by suggesting the figures by zones of colors, thus removing all details, and bringing a part of abstraction. In this way, the designer manages to create a modern and current object.
