Like a grand collection, the Charles Burger design house presents this wallpaper, which brings together no fewer than eighty distinct motifs within a grid-like layout set against a light background—all inspired by the work of painter Jean Pillement (1728–1808). A traveler, watercolorist, and landscape artist, Pillement committed his discoveries to paper, frequently depicting a variety of flowers and *chinoiserie* elements. This *Toile de Jouy* print features plants, figures, animals, and even boats. Notably, the design includes a dodo—the bird native to Mauritius that achieved legendary status following its extinction in the 18th century.
