Chapan Fabric Étamine

Etamine has reinvented the traditional Uzbek coat with Chapan, a brightly coloured silk cotton. The fabric faithfully reproduces the ikat motif using a technique unique to Uzbekistan. Only the warp threads are dyed before being woven. Here, they are subjected to a long silk-screening process, for a finish worthy of the great master craftsmen of the 17th century.
