Kintsugi Fabric Métaphores

Métaphores offers a delicate floral fabric with historical value. It is inspired by an archive document dating from the 18th century. By reinterpreting this botanical plate, Métaphores is promoting a traditional Lyon silk-making skill. It is a recycled polyester warp printed by transfer with a blurred pattern evoking the atmosphere of a smoking room in the Roaring Twenties. Roses and poppies and beautiful foliage form a tree of life. The delicate golden lines embedded in the design refer to the art of Kintsugi, an ancient Japanese technique of repairing a broken object by highlighting its cracks with gold instead of masking them. Oriental ambience, stones and precious metals are the chromatic influences of this curtain fabric.
