Plate 120 Rug by Gunta Stölzl Christopher Farr

Major figure of the Bauhaus, Gunta Stölzl, weaver and textile designer, was a pupil of Vassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee and Lyonel Feininger before leading the Bahaus weaving workshop as a Master. She helped transform textile crafts into avant-garde art. Her mastery of dyeing and industrial production, combined with her curiosity and her taste for experimentation, animated the Bauhaus weaving workshop, which would become one of the most successful of this legendary establishment. Hand-tufted with hand-dyed wool, Plate 120 rug is a faithful adaptation of a Gunta Stölzl's original drawing on paper produced at the Bauhaus in the 1920s.
