Color Therapis, Between Matisse and Memphis

Color Therapis is a bold French interior design brand founded in 2020 by Lavinia Augeai, a Transylvanian designer based in Paris. From childhood, she developed a fascination for vibrant colors, influenced by movements such as the Bauhaus, Memphis, Fauvism, and her favorite painter, Matisse. After earning a master’s degree in finance, a life-changing personal event prompted her to launch Color Therapis to “cultivate beauty” in everyday life. Drawing on her career as an international buyer across France, India, and Africa, Lavinia has transformed her passion for vibrant colors and design into a creative studio that develops chairs, sofas, cushions, and rugs built to last. The name evokes chromotherapy, where vibrant colors act as a remedy to harmonize body and mind.

The brand excels at upcycling, creating armchairs from the 1960s to the 1980s that are restored using recycled wood and upholstered with scraps of high-end fabric from Parisian houses such as Pierre Frey and Kenzo.
