The soothing visual of the Cent Lièvres panel reveals a sumptuous view of a hilly rural landscape lit by a comforting summer sun. Originally painted in gouache in soft and luminous hues, this representation houses adorable hares and swallows living in harmony with the nature that surrounds them. Elegant field flowers and an apple tree sketched in ink open this window to a marvelous world in the foreground. The designers of Les Dominotiers are inspired by the tale of Alexandre Dumas, Le Sifflet Enchanté in which a shepherd is challenged by the king to marry his daughter. The first of his trials is to bring a hundred hares back to their stable. This wallcovering can be combined with The Legend of Swallows.
