The Ancient Writing 1936 fabric, designed by Dedar for the Contemporary Archives collection, features an abstract pattern with geometric and vintage accents. On the jacquard-woven cotton, scattered fragments evoke a lost script, woven in both hollow and raised forms. Six weft threads alternate depths and create a texture that changes to the touch. A border with clean stripes frames the whole.
