Inspired by the "Gilded Age" of the United States, Ralph Lauren's Colonnade Metallic Gilded fabric features a light background speckled with golden spots. The figures, woven from shiny polyester yarns, contrast with the matt cotton surface. They emit sparks, as in the interiors of the American haute bourgeoisie towards the end of the 19th century.
