A large grasshopper hidden in irises, this is arguably the most famous botanical work of the master of printmaking Hokusai Katsushika. Iris et Sauterelle, kept at the Guimet Museum in Paris, comes from the Large Flowers series produced in the 1830s during the Edo period. Van Gogh, was inspired by this print to paint his irises, upsetting the world of painting.
