This border reuses Metamorphis II, a famous drawing of M.C.Escher. It illustrates the idea of transformation through a surrealist succession of images combining several different designs made by the artist. The representation begins on the left with the words "metamorphosis", then change respectively to the right into: a chessboard, lizards, alveoli, bees, fish, birds, cubes; then towards the end in an illustration of the city of Atrani which tower becomes a chessboard piece to finally return to the words "metamorphosis".
